Hey BF,

I’ve been inspired by the gospel of Paul (Ephesians 6:10) and want to get one of my knive’s handle scales engraved with a symbolic image like the below.

What would you do to improve it? I used PowerPoint to do it and it was hard to make shapes and center everything.

If you’re not familiar with the story, no worries, I wasn’t either! Basically it symbolizes “putting on the full armor of God”. The helmet is salvation; the breastplate is righteousness; the belt is truth; the boots walk towards peace; the sword is our spirit and prayer; the shield itself is our faith.

I think this will look cool!
Here is the knife it will go on. The engraving will actually be in black to match the PVD blade. It will be done by the guys at @medford

And here is the Bible passage: https://www.bible.com/bible/1/EPH.6.10-20.KJV

I would update the helmet, breastplate, belt and boots to be more recognizable.
the helmet looks like a bad face emoji - I would look at something similar to the Vegas Golden Knights logo
breastplate looks like a squat capital "T"
belt and boots are very generic shapes

in all cases, something that is more readily recognizable as a helmet, breastplate, belt, and boots

Thanks L l1ranger . I am going to try and improve the images, and was thinking along the same lines. However, Medford has told me not to make too much detail since their engraving cannot capture it.

great idea! Power point images are weak icons of such worthy armor. A trip to the library and some digitizing for shrinking and fitting maybe. Google offers feature to only return images that have Creative Commons Copyrights, which is always useful for looking at artistic versons of the past for mashing up. Duckduckgo does not have this feature.

I think it is Lazer engraving, but that’s a good question for me to check.

A friend of mine knows a lot about graphic design. She told me to check out this website. I was able to make a collection of potential images…thankfully she is going to help me work on it, too!

link did not work for me - but I did some searching

I agree that you dont want a ton of detail. searching the link you posted, they had some good simple options that were immediately recognizable as helmet and breastplate.
boot and belt may take a little more digging

I like the project idea - look forward to seeing the finished product
