Engraving too faint

I purchased two Kershaw Copper Leeks for me and my partner and took them to a jeweler to engrave our names on the blade. He recommended putting the engraving in the handle, but the copper was just too pretty to touch so I went with the blade. Very small above the Kershaw name. The engraving is very light and doesn’t really show up unless the light hits it just right. He said the steel was too hard and they do not have a laser engraver. They did not charge me, and he suggested that I send it off to a laser engraver to engrave over their etch. Is that even possible, will it look any better? Thanks.

Welcome to Bladeforums javamomma.

Laser engraving is pretty common these days, my local shopping malls have businesses that do laser engraving on all sorts of things, including knife blades. You might want to do a Google search for laser engravers in your area, and if you find any, pay them a visit with the knives and ask them in person what they can do.
