As the title states, are these knife companies any good? Does anyone have any experience with them? If so how are the knives? The quality and fit and finish? Just wondering as I made an impulse buy on the Bay for a Ganzo G-704, Enlan EL-02 and an Enlan El-04MCT. I just could'nt resist the look of these knives. The G-704 not so much as I have a Benchamde HK 14250-702. It was a package deal and I really liked the way that the EL-02 and the EL-04 looked. I guess basically what I am asking is: Do I need to worry about these falling apart with just normal, no abuse, use? Hope fully I don't end up posting in the Knives I would Never Buy Again thread :D

Enlan knives are great for the money, and as far as I know they have their own original designs. Ganzo on the other hand loves to copy Benchmade designs... I'd stay away from them.

Remember though, there's practically no warranty on these unless you want to pay to ship it to China, and wait 6 plus weeks for a replacement. I'd buy from any of the USA sellers on eBay if you want one; at least you'd be able to get a replacement.

Oh and the only problem I had with the Enlan was their pivot screws... The old ones had four holes so something like snap ring pliers could tighten the pivot. The new ones are a raised triangular shape... You could always cut a slot in them with a Dremel though.

I bought a few enlans to give away as gifts a few months ago, and I was pleasantly surprised at the fit, finish, and function. The actually seemed like very sturdy and well built knives.

Thanks for the info. I just hope that I didn't just throw money in the garbage. Oh well, what is done is done. Hopefully I will be pleasantly surprised :)

I really like my Enlan el01, its a very nice knife for the money and frankly overall. Its also very overbuilt too

I have one from both companies and they are pretty solid for the $$ you pay. Both came sharp out of the box. Just remember, they probably won't replace any of your spydercos, bm, kershaws etc.

Ive had them and was surprised how good they were for the money, just dont expect to mess with the screws without stripping them (pivot might be ok didnt try it).

I have an EL-02B (stonewashed blade) and EL-04MCT. I like them but I don't tend to carry them very often. The action on the EL-04MCT really smoothed out with use. The lock on the EL-02B is still stiff. The quality is good enough that they made me question why I bought $150 knives. That being said, they aren't pocket jewelry. They're easy to sharpen and stay sharp long enough for my uses. If you want to cut things, they'll certainly do that.

A couple other things. The stonewashed EL-02B got some slight rusting so I went ahead and sanded it with 1500 grit sandpaper. Hasn't had any problems since. Also the thumb stud was loose on the EL-02B so I applied adhesive and it has stayed in place since. The EL-04MCT hasn't had any issues.

I got the knives and the EL-02 and the G-704 are beautiful! The gentleman that I got them from is practicing his scale work. I think he's got it down. These are great. Much better than I expected :D
