What is "Differentialy heat treated". The steel looks blueish....is it a reflection or is that the result of the heat treat? What ever it is....it's a keeper!

Naw it's not blue (Trust me) it was just the nut behind the camera
It has a mirror polish which is hard to see because of my lack of photographic skills. It is quenched (Hardened) along the edge area of the blade.
That keeps the spine flexable.
