..."It's deja vu all over again!"...
Just a few days ago we were treated here in the forum to a beautiful Lanny's Clip by Enrique Pena in some of Enrique's brown jigged bone.
Today, I have been fortunate enough to receive my own version of this beautiful Tony Bose pattern as executed by Enrique with his own jigged and dyed bone reminiscent of the "A.G. Russell" bone we've become enamored with in the past.
A few years ago when Bill Ruple told me that Enrique Pena was the real deal I took him seriously but had no idea just how far he'd come so quickly. Enrique has found himself in the rarefied atmosphere inhabited by some of the world's best slipjoint makers (in my humble opinion). And with each knife (I currently have four) there is an incremental step up in the design, execution, fit and finish.
In the current case, the action needs to be experienced to gain an appreciation for just how uniform, smooth and fluid it is.
This knife speaks well enough for itself so I am going to hold off on the rest of the superlatives and just let the images do the talking.
First, here are some stats:
Pattern: Lanny's Clip
Closed Length: 3 7/8"
Weight: 3 7/8 ounces
Steel: CPM-154 @ 59 Rc
Liners & Bolsters: Integral, Milled/Relieved 410 Stainless
Pivot Bushing
Scales: Enrique Pena jigged & dyed bone
Pinned Shield / Fluted Bolster
Pins: Spun
(Firefox users: right click and choose "view image" to see full size.)
I couldn't be happier with this knife.
As always, your thoughts and comments are invited.
