Thanks for posting the pic Anthony. Let me know what you think when the knife arrives.

-By the way, there's a typo in the title ... it's "Lin" :)

Looks like a winner!! Look forward to your impressions with it in hand.

Looks like Marcus thinned the guard significantly from the model that he did for me, which is a good thing.

Why did you go with the "football" logo, instead of (imo) the more unique and desired "Lin" logo?

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

I was looking for the closest thing to a Loveless so I went with Bob's favorite handle material and the similar logo.

Why is the "Lin" logo more "desired"? Or did you just pull that out of your butt? :D

The "imo" means I pulled it out of my butt, Mr. Lompopo!:D

Having compared Marcus's work to Loveless, there is a big difference(Loveless is better, duh) BUT viewed on its' own, simply asking "is this a good knife?", the answer is OH YEAH!

Marcus makes a GREAT knife, but it isn't a Loveless....for a US maker, more readily available and affordable than Loveless, (S.R.) Johnson, (John)Young and (Thad)Buchanan, in that order, are the closest thing to a Loveless. That kind of work(as you know) takes time to get right....all Marcus needs is that time.

Thank you everyone for all the positive comments.

Thank you Steven for the pointers! I'm trying to incorporate all the things you mentioned into the knives I make. By the way, this is my 6th Wilderness now ... and every knife is suddenly feeling more "right" these last few weeks. ;)

I think Anthony should be receiving his Wilderness any day now ... it'll be interesting to see what he thinks -especially after seeing the work of a lot of Loveless-style makers at Blade.

I was just playing around in Picasa with that very dramatic pic.

The knife is a true "A"
I can't wait to see how Marcus's 60th Wilderness looks.

Excellent grinds and blade finish
"Spot on" handle contour-feels like Loveless intended.
Razor sharp
Valiant effort and great value.
Keep your eye on Marcus Lin and his knives. If you enjoy Loveless designed knives, his work holds up among the very best.

I have 2 more on order.

Oooo! Shiny! I like it!

Hey Anthony,

Hope you don't mind me shrinking your image for easier viewing.
What I know about Loveless style knives could be written on the head of a pin
but I'm trying to learn.

What a beautiful knife, grinds look great as does the whole knife.
Congrats and thanks for showing us !

Any hints what your other two orders will be ? :)
