I was dead after some really bruising escrima last night, when I got home I flopped down infront of the TV and flipped it on. Within seconds I saw what I would swear was an HI 12" AK, it turns out the movie is called entrapment, it had cathrin zeta jones and sean connery in it, the scene was in some antique shop Catherine has a an AK pulled on her by less then honest antique dealer. If anyone else has seen this movie is that indeed a HI AK?

Yeah and there was some guy starring in that movie too, but I'll be darned if I can remember who...;)

I video-stepped through that scene last night.

The khukuri has the blade angle of an AK, horn handle, looks like a peened tang, military frog, deep sword of Shiva, traditional bolster, rather sharp-angled point in the cho, no apparent Devangari markings, and depending on Catherine Zeta-Jones' jawline length, is probably about 14 inches.

The thought occurs that an actress known for her beauty might not have a real blade held along her neck in many takes of a scene (the angles and hand position on the khukuri change), so it is probably a prop.

Could be H.I., G.H., K.H., or, my guess, a safe plastic prop done very well for the movie close-up.

But dunno for sure.

I always thought that the knife was a BAS because of the brass inlay in the sword of Shiva.
