I like simple and functional knife designs, and the Entrek Backup Utility Knife seems to be just that. I would like opinions of the knife. I am looking to use it for a small outdoors utility knife. The Entrek website says the knife is 3/16 in. thick and only one inch wide. Does this make the knife have an overly steep edge? 3/16 of an inch thick is a good size piece of steel, and one inch doesn't seem to give enough room for the blade to taper down. Plus, the knife has a modified saber grind, which brings the beginning of the grind even lower. I love the look of the knife and it seems to be very functional. I hear their heat treat is excellent, so i have no worries about the steel type. I swear by 1095 and other high carbon steels, so this will be my first stainless wilderness blade if I buy it. Is this knife going to be a good investment? I consider myself a patriotic consumer, and I would rather buy an American made product over one made over seas. So (to be honest) any competitive options given that aren't American made will most likely be looked over(no offence:)). Any information on the grind along with preformance would be great! thanks guys!
