Entrek Companion

I'm considering one of these Entrek Companions. Can anyone give me an opinion on those?

It is a very nice knife. I bought one a few years back, and I gave it to a buddy of mine. It is a very heavy duty knife. The sheath is not that pretty, but is keeps the knife just fine. Ray makes a excellent working knife.

I have had a Companion now for over a year, and I think that it is a great knife. I have used it for everything from kitchen duty to some light chopping. The 440c has held up real well. The sheath leaves alot to be desired, but it works. The only change that I made to this knife is that I removed the bead blast finish with scotchbright. I found the bead blast finish caused drag when making cuts, and made the Companion very difficult to clean. I have no problem recomending the Companion as an excellent all around heavy duty 4" fixed blade.
 
Thanks for the input. Anyone have another 4" drop point to recommend at this price point?

Are there any good replacement sheaths for the Companion?

I would get a custom kydex sheath made. I can recommend On Scene Tactical.
