I bought this knife as a backup some years ago, and have had it in storage for quite some time......it just never got used or carried. It has never been sharpened either. There are a few hair-line scratches on the blade; you can only see it if you hold the blade at a certain angle.....the result of removing the blade from the kydex sheath. If I didn't mention it I doubt you would know. They won't even show up in a photo. Bead-blast blades hide this kind of thing much more than polished. This knife looks like new. The edge is very sharp !
Entrek Companion Model 19- Micarta Handle, Plain Edge,8 5/8" overall length. 4" 440C Stainless Steel spear point blade with Bead Blast finish........3/16" thick. The top edge is ground so it can also be sharpened if desired. Full tang construction. Black Canvas Micarta handles with lanyard hole. Comes with Black Kydex belt sheath. Made in USA with materials from US companies.
The Companion is apparently the makers favorite personal carry knife......I can see why; it's a very useful size.

All Ray's knives are made from 440C Stainless Steel for a combination of toughness edge holding and corrosion resistance. Blades are heat treated, subzero stabilized and drawn to 57-58 RC. Ray really knows how to get the best out of 440C, and his heat treatment has gained quite a reputation.
The handles are made from black canvas micarta which look nice and allow for a very good gripping surface ......they're tough too and make for a very effective working handle.
The Sheath is formed from .060 Black Kydex with brass eyelets to make a strong lightweight belt carry. But I must admit.....while the sheath is serviceable it's not top of the line !
.....I would characterize this knife a being VERY durable and tough. Ray's knives are primarily made for hunting, utility, and tactical purposes...they're knives that you can use and abuse and are not necessarily made for being a showpiece. If you are looking for a knife that will last a lifetime and will hold up to almost anything you do with it this might work for you. It's a very good knife......
