I’ve been checking out the knives (only on the web) made by Entrek and I was wondering if anyone here has any experience with Entrek knives and what their thoughts were about them. I believe that one of the knife magazines spoke highly of them but I can’t find that particular issue now that I want to review it. The knives I’m most interested in are the BISON, the Ranger and the Sub-hilt Silhouette. I have found a couple of dealers online that sell the knives for at least one hundred dollars less than retail price per knife.
I’ve tried to use the search function on the forums but all I get is a blank page.

Thank you in advance for any information that you can give about these knives.

While not owning one myself, the buzz I've heard is all good. A solid product at a good price.

The only reason I'm holding back is the method of retention in the sheath for some models, I.E.: The Ranger has a divot drilled out on the hilt that mates with the sheath.

For some reason that just drives me batty. Modifying the knife to better lock into a sheath just seems odd to me. If I could get a Ranger w/o that divot it would be a done deal for me.

Entrek knives are really outstanding and a bargain. I have a cobra that I've had for about three years and it is awesome. 440C holds an edge and is easy for me to resharpen. The sheath is a bit thin, but for a few bucks you can have a kydex made the way you want it...at least that's what I did. Hope that helps, Jim

I've got a Sub-hilt Silhouette wich I like a lot. It's a heavy duty knife extremely solid. The sheath is crap really crap...I had Normark make me one and it's perfect. For the service at Entrek, well I don't know they never answered my e-mails...still the knife is great!!!

I have an Elk that I bought off the forums, it's a really solid knife. The only problem I had with it is that since it was designed to be a heavy use knife, it's built like a sharpened prybar. I had a difficult time getting a good edge on it until I took a file and reduced the back bevel some. I then did the same with the sharpmaker. Now I've got a great edge on it and I love it.

I have the Distroyer, it has held up very well I like it a lot, made from 440C bead blast finish. There whole line of knives are very nice aty a good price.I do not like the sheath that the knife came with so I will have Kenny Rowe make a leather sheath. Yoe wont go wrong with an Entrek.

Great knives. Sheaths certainly leave something to be desired. I just made a better one for mine. You can't go wrong with their knives. Outstanding bargain.
