I am very new to the idea of super expensive, high quality collectible knives. So I am wondering, is it worth buying anything in the sub-300 dollar category for fixed tactical blades? I like the Reeves, mercworx (oh god), vanguard and many others! They are awesome but start at 300 for the things I am into. I see that entrek knives is somewhat like benchmade, to where they offer custom type blades under 200 dollars. Is an entrek knife going to hold it's value? I know iot's not collectible per se but if you were in my position would you feel good picking up an entrek subhilt for instance, or would you just sspend the extra hundred for a swamp rat, reeves or mercworx?

Boy, you chose a touchy topic.

As far as knives go, I suggest only buying what you like and not buying for investment purposes. If a knife maintains value, few lucky.

As far as big knives generally holding value, Randall is all I'd recommend or possibly BUSSE. Most brands generally loose value and few actually gain value.

Gain in value, BTW, generally takes time. For instance, now is not the time to buy Benchmade M2 knives; four or five years ago was the time to invest in them (so jump in the time machine and bring back a few for me :)).

There is no collector value in entrek knives but they are good quality knives for use. Edges need to be thinned though but they take and hold a zero or convex edge very well if you know how to put one on.

If I may suggest , take a look at David Wesner's knives .

I have had a couple Entrek's , they are well made users , and in my opinion offer great value for the $$.

I'd have to agree with some of the comments, here. You can spend a lot more on custom and collectible knives that may never appreciate in value and may not even hold their value.

If you like it, buy it. Once in a while you get lucky.

yeah mine doesn't even slice paper well when new out of the box(that surprised me),something a cheap 10 euro(I'm from Europe yes) folder does easily.

but the blade does look magnificent.VERY strong(thick blade, that's why it feels a little heavy).
the handle doesnt have a good feeling like a Kabar has.not as secure and comfortable.
I have a Entrek Merc.the blade itself is awesome.like a Gladius or Pugio ,but stronger :-)

I wouldnt buy those knives for their value.
it is not as investing in art.buy them because you like them or are effective/useful for what you want.if it is about investing,I would definitely find something else to invest.

I'd like to hear more about people's experiences on Entrek knives.
I just can't find much info on them by users/soldiers and their experiences.
