So I just got my entrek strike point and I love it. It's a heavy duty folder that deserves attention from big folder fans.

Cutting Edge: 4.25"
Blade Thickness: 3/16"
Blade Material: 440C
Rockwell Hardness: 57-58
Weight: 7 oz.
Made in USA

I think this pretty much explains it all when it comes to this knife. It also came shaving sharp .

The knife isn't an attractive, girly knife it is a serious, beefy tool that can be used for hard cutting jobs. It is a beast of a folder, stripped to the bear essentials...yes BEAR.

This knife is indeed a liner lock but before I see any moaning and groaning from the hard use folk..rest assured that is the strongest liner lock I have ever handled, I have yet to break it in but right now it requires two hands to unlock it. This comes from it being very strong, thick and sitting deeply in the tang. I think it's also because the liner lock is not that easy to get to as it seems to be a little bit under the liners so I really, really doubt that you will inadvertently unlock it with the movement from your hand gripping the handle.Let's put it this way If you ever pushed down on a tri-ad lock or back lock to unlock it and felt how stiff it was..honestly you have to push a lot harder with this thing.

It's a very thick blade at 3/16 of an inch and you can see it here being compared to the 4mm Coldsteel spartan .

And this is a picture comparing it some other strong tactical folders that you guys may recognize.

Now there is some negatives about this knife. #1 the handle is smooth aluminum and even though it's a well designed handle and there is thumb grooves it might be a little hard to hold onto when wet. This of coarse can be modified easily even with just some skateboard tape. #2 It's isn't a real smoother opener but I have yet to give it some oil so the jury is still out on that. # 3 It only has one thumb stud for opening but I believe it can be reversed.

do you know the pivot diameter?

it's not big...I used to be concerned with the pivot size when looking at the pictures but when actually handling it I feel that it's strong as hell. Maybe the pivot screws are connected to another larger piece of hardware in the hole of the tang.

I had forgotten all about that CRKT in the picture with the hilt, it was one of the first knives I bought when I had just started becoming more interested in knives. Enjoy your new Entrek!

my ontario xm2 has slippery aluminum slabs as well but their shape precludes using skate tape so i cut alot of grooves in them and it helped A LITTLE. Next step is to fill them in w epoxy and the surface should be alot better. Keep us posted on your "beautiful beast"!

Update:

After putting a little bit of oil in the pivot, It opens smoother now and after putting a couple pieces of skateboard tape it helped the grip somewhat..still this is not a very comfortable knife to hold. Seeing as how it's marketed as a Tactical/military style folder I tried holding and handling it with gloves on and it worked great. Also I tried some stabbing tests.. I was able to stab it through wood and 2 rubber soled shoes on top of each other so the blade shape has good penetration. no play in any direction.

what are the liners made of and can you mic em? Btw i like the lock characteristics ~u did a good job explaining them.

The liners are aluminum and the locking liner is Stainless steel. The liners are 1/8" thick and the locking liner is 1/16". Mic them?

Sorry I had no meat to stuff into these shoes like cold steel so I just doubled it up. Your feet are not safe. This was done with one very hard stab.

Yeah it's considered a drop point but it is a lot more of a spear point, there are also grey versions if you don't like the black.
