Any feedback on the Entrek line of fixed blades
and Particullarly on the Ranger.Thanks

Hi Mike - I've seen a few of Ray's pieces and they are heavy duty fixed blades, looks like they'll stand up to whatever you can throw in their way. I think he has a website, don't know the URL off the top of my head but maybe if someone knows they can post it here.

Thanks for the reply and url.Hey Dex I got a very
apologetic e-mail From the President of Moteng
today I will let you check it out at work.

I have an older Entrek that I purchased directly. It is pretty nice and has a decent kydex sheath. I recently saw one of the production models. Although I liked the knife, the sheath is not sufficient. It looks like two thin pieces of kydex/concealex/? slapped together with a few fasteners. Pretty flimsy, and no pressure retention system on the sample I saw. If I bought the knife, I'd plan on replacing the sheath.

I just bought a used "nib" Entrek Elk. The original owner tossed the sheath and in its placed used an Ontario SP sheath and it fits perfectly. I noticed there was a drilled index in the scale and I assume that was for whatever retention system that was used on the orignal kydex sheath. Doesn't affect the knife but the drilled out area is U-G-L-Y.

Incidentally these are some pretty thick stocked knives. Talk about prying ability. Seems pretty well made. I may need to check that Ranger out. Looks pretty good.
