just courious if anybode ever customized their benchmade emersons?
im getting a bm975 and was thinking about getting the hamdle redone in micarta.
i was gonna get my 98 commander done bet , damb if it aint a fine knife on its own. and after 3 years of good carry i'd hate to have it redone and not be happy, at the same time new bolsters and micarta scales would be nice. i could also get another one and have that redone. god i hate this addiction.
and i would also like to say it's nice having a computer again to read the forums. i like being back.

i like using knives, abusing knives, and just finding another excuse to get new knives
:D

I have totally redone my cqc7.
Polished the blade removed and replacd the spacer in the spine.
Polished the handles to look like micarta it is bad a$$.

I've one of the first Benchmade CQC7's with the rust magnet finish on the blade !

Anyway, mine was customised at Gunsite where I brought it back in '95. I'll take some pics and get them posted here if anyone is interested in seeing it !

It has seen a bit of use though ! :D

Yeah, I miss her. :( She got a lot of compliments when I showed her off. I happen to have another BM 975 sitting in a drawer somewhere - I just may have to get it customized!!!

Squid...that is extremely nice...What did the total conversion run you?

dd1967 - I bought one of those CQC7s when they first came out. I had horrendous rust problems because I carried IWB. I called Benchmade to inquire about getting a Black T blade, as they had just come out. They had a deal where you could send your original knife in with $10.00 and they would replace it with a black t blade. That's what I did and I've carried that same knife for about 4 years now, with no problem at all.

But I just ordered a Commander, so my carry knife is going to change here shortly. Maybe I'll send the CQC off and get it souped up. :)

Yes, I would be more than happy as well to do the work. I have quite a lot of fun actually.

I carry a customized CQC7 every day at work in my pocket...with wave of course!

A friend of mine took a Dremel to one of the Benchmades and cut an improvised Wave into it. Not as good as the real thing, but he was able to make it work.

Thanks, glad you like it! It's probably best you talk prices over with Mike. I don't want to put words in his mouth, or in this case, quote prices for his work. Just let me put it to you this way...it was worth every dollar. To boot, he's a super nice guy, and will do practically anything you want.
