Well - I just tried something for the hell of it. A Kiridashi utility knife. I'll make a kydex sheath for it sometime or another. Single Chisel grind edge in 3'16" 0-1 and Tan G-10. Sorry the picture isnt GREAT but I hoped to get better detail. How do you guys like these that may have them?

I don't have a Kiridashi, but I think yours looks great:thumbup: I saw one from Ray Laconico a while back and thought the shape looked handy. I really like your photography/editing skills too:D

I have one from American Kami that I edc and use on the regular. Great little knives, very functional.

Looks to be a great little whittling blade. I don't really know where the kiridashi style came from, but it seems to be chisel that someone made more pointy? Don't know what i'd use it for, other than woodworking though. That said, i have to admit that i want one.

Brian, that's a great looking kiridashi:thumbup:. I've made a few in the past just for fun too. It's nice when you only have to grind one side and not have to match it on the other side:D

I use one similar to that for marking my cuts on woodworking projects. The flat (non-bevel-side makes it easy to snug up right against a straight edge for precision marking. Nice work!

That is a realy clean attractive knife.

lolz, i looks like my exacto knife's bigger, better dressed brother.
That ain't a bad thing at all.

As I understand it the kiridashi was the traditional Japanese peasant's knife used for, you guessed it, wood working, and general utility.
