If you have a Dermel, 1 inch long sanding drum, dust mask, and a small vise or something to hold the knife securely, it would not be too hard to do yourself?
- Mount the 3/4" - 1" sanding drum into the press and move the plate up high enough that the drum extends below the surface of the plate.
- Make sure the plate is swung out to the side and just there is about 1/64" clearance between the plate and the sanding drum.
- Mark where you want your EO notch with pencil on the scales (I like it under the ring finger).
- Tape the blade and spine and work slowly with checking frequently.
- Finish sanding with progressively higher grits of sand paper and a wooden dowel of the same diameter.
- Upload pics of the finished job.
Just buy a 3/4" -1" dowel and try on that a few times.
You will need the dowel for your finish sanding anyway, so why not kill two birds with one stone?
