Epic Flea Market Score

So the family and I are at a flea market in Ft. Walton and I notice a couple of pukos in a case at one of the booths. Figured I'd take a look at them since the only other knives were in a booth that looked like a Tac-force factory outlet. The pukos turned out to be custom Pakistani specials and I was about to walk when a little black knife with a Benchmade clip caught my eye. It was way in the back next to an old pipe. Turns out it to be a Benchmade Mini Reflex 2550. It was priced at $6.99!!! No way. Too good to be true, but for that price I took a shot. It has a pretty good chip near the tip and didn't fire complety, but nothing I can't fix. Spent the next couple of hours researching fake Benchmades, and can't find anything about this model being counterfeited. Everything checks out to the description on Benchmade's website and my other butterflies. I'm pretty sure it's the real deal! Took it apart, cleaned and lubed her up, good as new! Little time on the KME and I'm pretty sure I just got a $170 knife for $6.99. Any thoughts?

Tldr: epic flea market score! Benchmade 2550 for 6.99!!! Oh, plus tax:D

thoughts? Thats an awesome score even better youve got the skills to fix it and a KME as well. 7 bucks eh? No wonder I cant even give my like new 2550 away lol

It's not a knife I would buy under normal circumstances. I don't think he knew what he had though. Most of the items in the booth were decorative anyiques like tea sets and similar stuff.

nice score. I was super happy to find my BM Lum Tanto at a pawn shop for $120. You did much better. I never see nice folding knives at flea markets, except Case knives mostly. Every once in a while I will stumble upon a nice carbon kitchen knife an bring it home as a project. Fun times.

Sorry guys, been busy and thought the thread was going nowhere. I'll dust off the imgur account and get some posted tomorrow night. Sleep required, goodnight.

OK. Few pics. Sorry for mediocre quality. Tried to capture the chip near the tip, but doesn't show very well. Also missing a clip screw.

You, sir, have a great flea market find. At the amazing price paid, clearly the seller didn't know what he had. (That would be my guess...:)) The screw for the clip could be a minor issue if the threaded insert is stripped. Benchmade might, for the asking, send a few replacement screws out to you. Can't hurt to ask: 800-800-7427. The nick on the blade is easy to work out, I would say you got your money's worth as that's the real ticket and in remarkable shape.

Thanks jkarp. I'm still amazed myself. I'm going to try a screw from one of my other Benchmade's and see if the insert is stripped. If so, I may just remove the clip. Not legal to carry in Louisiana so on the rare occasion I may do so it would not be clipped to my pocket.
