Epoxy coating

Won't give the rough, wrinkle finish though. Bead blast first if you want to rough it a bit. It coats very thin, but very durable.

Thanks for the reply Eric. I've tried GunKote, but I'm looking for something a bit more durable...

There is a gun finishing product called "Duracoat" that I just had put on one of my knives this week. A very cool camo pattern. I think it will be the ticket, but I haven't picked it up yet. It is designed to be air brushed on by the average guy. They also have a product called "Durabake" that is spray painted on and baked (at relatively low temp) to harden it. It works very well but it is so hard that it is prone to sctatching in kydex. Not a big deal for a user but some may not like that. I would post some pictures if I was smart enough. Google it and see if it would work for you. Good luck.

You could contact Dan Koster. He puts some finish on his blades...not sure if it's powder coating or what.

Hopefully Scott sees this post as he had a post where he used this coating on a really nice knife. You can try and search it but you know how that works on here.

Brownells also has a Baking Lacquer that works well, but takes alot longer to apply than the black oxide treatment.
Here's a few examples of black oxide:

Here are the examples of the Durabake and that Duracoat if I did this right!

O.K. A bit of a bonehead, I know.....here is another try.

The striped one showing is the Duracoat (my 3rd knife) despite what is below the photo. Just got it today is the reason there is no handle yet. Thinkin about tan paracord. This photo import has been enuff of a train wreck so I'll leave it alone now.
