im doing a tanto the handle I am going to be using braided parachute cord I scrounged from work and im going to make the sheath out of leather with the cord wrap and I will be doing Turks head knots on both the handle and the sheath. using one piece of cord diong the turks head knot going straight to the wrap I tried once already on the knife handle I used loctite epoxy 90 min set time and this globed up which I was not happy with the results had to burn it to get off  what would be a good epoxy to use some thing that will penatrate or be absorbed by the cord better.thanks Russ

Russ I recently tried this too. I also used a slow set epoxy. I worked it into the cord with a flux brush. I'd cut the bristles to about 3/8" long to make them a little stiffer. Hope this helps.
