Epoxy/Rubber Coating?

Howdy. I noticed Blade Rigger advertises a "Rigger Coat" for knife handles and kydex sheathes. Do y'all know what material this is? Rubber or some kind of epoxy?
Anyone here apply there own coatings to knives and/or sheathes? I'm especially interested in adding a coating to pinned-on micarta knife scales.
Thanks, Ray

yes, i have had good results with plasti-dip. It's a basic rubber based coating available in different colours. It's not fancy but it works very well. Just dip and dry, dip and dry till needed thickness is achieved. you could add small glaspearls (used in bead blasting) to create more traction to the coating. It's waterproof, insulating, and resilient to scuffs and scratches.

I'll be performing a Plastidip mod on my new Blind Horse Knives "Tiger Knapp" within a week or so. I'll let you know how it goes.

Thanks, I appreciate it. I'm also considering some type of epoxy resin coating. Might be more durable.

I don't think any coating is going to be any more durable than the Micarta scales you already have..
Change the color, make it shiny, change the appearance:YES.
More durable than Micarta: nope.

Durability of the micarta scales isn't a concern. I'd like an epoxy or other coating that is water resistant and durable, with a good gripping surface.

Nobody doing this at home?
Anyone send a knife off to Bladerigger to have it coated?
