found some great ergo proto's. battle mistress, steel heart, natural outlaw, and game warden. note the plunge line being more forward and the extreme drop of the proto's handles. the proto no-e had a short round butt and the game warden was never produced in this version. all these are tempered but unsharpened. i believe there were only a couple game warden proto's in existance, very rare! enjoy!

ps: i believe the game warden proto was dumped because of the blade handle ratio and re introduced with a longer blade as the ba-e or badger attack ergo.

Do you think those came before or after Cobalt's? To me his seem older

.

i haven't seen cobalts so i don't know. i do know these are unsharpened because they were supposedly the "photo knives" and just for handling and such. i got these from a huge west coast busse dealer who was very tight with busse and the factory. whether there are more or less i just don't know.
does cobalt have a pic of his at badmojo?

.

Always a pleasure to see the rarities that come out your recesses :)

the badger works ok for me without the rear talon hole, but i have to say i like my ergo outlaw much better with it. i'm glad it made it onto the production run.

He's got 2 doublecut Steel Heart ergo proto's on the Exchange, one is double-edged. His may be older (a guess), the handles slant down more from the ricasso.

Skunk, ask Jerry about the First Show and Tell Proto's Shown at the New Orleans Shot Show 2001.(Might have been 2000)Should be able to look it up time wise with an old post of mine, was the same year I set up at Tupalo Miss.was with in a week or so of that show.

Roughly an inch longer per knife than what ended up being made and sold, just three knives though BM/SH/NO, that was when he showed the first knife that ended up being called the Satin Jack, and talked about 6 different blades that would end up with that same handle, but the Satin Jack was in his hand at the time, Good times, good times.

I thought you got those from Jerry after I told you about my Unsharpened Demonstrator Set.

I just looked in the Safe, Mine are still there.

My Wife has the only Finished Game Warden that I know of, the one for Show and tell at the 2001 Blade Show along with the other Ergos introduced there.

well hold on a sec, i can photoslant mine a bit more. ;) :D

Wow that bottom GW/Proto is sweet. I wish we could get some of those going. I agree the handle looks a bit long in the tooth but I really like the size of the blade. Maybe I need an Ergo badger.....

WOW!! As a gal who likes dem ergos, I may not stop drooling all day!!! Thanks for posting the pic, Skunk! (Hmmm--trade you a house in beeyoootiful AZ for them!) :D
