Eric Eggly, a long time fixture in the knife photography realm, is moving on and will no longer be photographing knives. Here is a general announcement from his FB page:
"It's a Wrap! After 30+ years of creating images for the advertising industry the studio is officially closed. I have been very blessed and fortunate to work with some extremely talented individuals many of which I now call friends. The last 5 years are the years I will cherish the most, I was able to work with my Best Friend/Business Partner/Wife/and love of my life. Those were truly the best of all. Business was great, but We decided on this change together and when this opportunity came to me it was one that won't pass this way again. I like a challenge and my passion will always be the visual arts and I'm just applying that passion in a little different way. With that being said, lets get this new chapter started!"
Shooting knives was not a large part of his photography business but his presence in the custom knife world was huge for us and he will be much missed! Eric has been a friend and mentor to me for the last 15 years and I will always be indebted to him. His excellent knife images never failed to impress, but his creative studio work in the advertising world was/is mind-blowingly good. Eric has now taken an executive position with a strong company in the photography equipment arena, Wescott, as head of product development - undoubtedly a great professional move for him.
We'll miss you, Eric!
