Does anyone own this stainless steel folder? Have you held it? I have the info, picture dimensions. I can buy it online but have not found it locally so far to put it in my hand. Need to make sure it is secure in my hand and because of the taper. THANX for all replies

Perhaps these will help...

Size comparison with Natives...

both the Native and the Poliwog in hand...

Those are good comparison shots. In The Deacons hands, I think the knife looks kinda small, but I have see another picture where it did not look so small. I tried to find the picture, but I couldn't.

THANX guys, I'd definitely have to put it in my hand after seeing these photos.

Carl, That must be an inside joke but you had me LOL

I really just meant he is using this as an excuse to show off his rare and sought-after knife, but now that I read it again maybe it sounds like some kind of secret dirty slang. "So I told her, if you can't get the tickets for that Alaskan cruise, I can rub my blue native in your face right at home!"

What do I know? I'm a knife collector, not a cunning linguist.

Nice pics. I always have trouble visualizing Spyderco sizes.... I thought the Paliwog was the size of Dodo, but it's barely a four finger knife.

I didn't realize how small it was until I saw one and held it in my hand. It feels really good, and you can hold onto it easily while hacking through thick newspapers and other stuff. It's not so convenient when closed. The clip location makes it hide in your pocket but it's not easy to pull out. I am thinking about getting a leather holster made for mine. "Vess Collectables" on ebay has some really nice looking stuff.

Only "problem" I find with the poliwog is that it does not sit securely in one grip I use fairly regularly, holding it the way I would a paring knife, edge in, for doing things like peeling an apple. In the grip shown in the photo, it's steady as a rock. And, for the record, my hands are fairly small, considering my height, I wear medium gloves. Carl, sorry about the blue Forum Model C78, it's the only Native III that I own right now.

Although there are obvious differences in the design. The finger grooves and length of the handle are very similar to the meercat. It was a tiny bit small for my hands. But I would have larger or extra-large glove size.

I held and played around with one yesterday.

One thing that really stood out to me is how much better and smoother the lock works on the Pollywog than on the Dodo.

It is a lock I hope to see on more spydies in the future, very good design!
