Finally got to pick it up yesterday! Ken's first single-spring Muskrat has landed in my hot little hands!
Ken has done an amazing job, fitting those two long, graceful blades into a very tight space. A single backspring 2-blade knife makes a perfect pocketable tool. When you open one of the blades, it is nearly centered in the handle, instead of way off to one side, as in a two spring knife. This improves the feeling of control and balance in the hand. And darn it, it just looks nicer!
With a "prototype" you expect some minor flaws or inefficiencies, but this knife has only one or two things that do not affect the knife, and wouldn't be noticed by most, unless pointed out.
It is a keeper, for sure!!
Feast yer eyes!!

You've been 'cleaning up', my friend, both old and new knives.

Christmas may be anticlimactic this year. ;)

It has been like the perfect storm, but that's it for a while (I think?).

Hate to wreck Christmas!!:D

Beautiful knife Charlie, bone is amazing. Could you post an over head with the blades in their "cubbies" ;-)

Regards

Robin

Yes! That is Ken's bone!!

Dang, now that is dedication for a guy to jig his own bone, but it might be a bit easier on a feller to buy some cattle bone...just sayin. :D

Ken's work is right up there with the best of the custom makers. Those aren't easy knives to make right.

Just a fantastic knife and that bone looks incredible and the rest looks sharp down to the nicks. Congratulations Charlie and Ken.

I was thinking the same thing. That knife really carries the torch.

Ken seems to be parting the All Hallow's Eve veil early in the season to channel the spirit of those fine old cutlers so successfully.

Congrats, Charlie. You lucky SOB.

Closed pic, Wagglebee, as requested!

Thanks waynorth, in the earlier picture it looked like the tip of the right blade was sticking up when the left blade was half open (if that makes any sense). But it looks perfect closed.

Nice crisp lines all round! The jigging on the bone completes the package.:thumbup:

Great knife! Serious bragging rights on that one. Great lines, grinds and bone to boot!
