I came accross a photo of an "Eric 's Knife" made by Canal Street? I fell in love with it! Anyone know much about it. I'd welcome any/all comments, pics, etc. better yet, if anyone 's willing to part with one please let me know (via private message). Thanks in advance fella's

You mean an eric's jack? You will probably have much better luck in the traditional knives subforum.

I believe it was the runner up for the 2014 traditional subforum Bladeforums knife. They ended up going with the GEC 77 "stag Jack"(similar knife but a little larger). Canal street decided to release theirs anyways.

My info could be quite a bit off. I was just getting into the traditional side of things when all that was happening.

This is a bit off topic, but Canal Street Cutlery ended up going out of business a little over a year ago. The last knife they produced was the 2015 Bladeforums knife, a serpentine/ premium jack. Now that was a great knife!

Eric is a great guy who participates here and went way beyond the call of duty on the 2014 forum knife. Moving this to the Trad. forum. That Jack is stunning had not seen one before this. Thank you JC.

Here's My Eric's Jack in Stag together with Bocote Forum Knife 2015 and Moon Pie Trapper in bone, all Canal Streets and all stainless construction.

The Eric's Jack is a little smaller than the GEC 15 Boy's Knife

I'll add a few more pics - I took several photos of it that day. It's my second most expensive knife (right behind the Bladeforums #13 Congress Jack).

Pile side (apologize for a little "fisheye" effect from the phone camera lens - I was trying to focus on the stag handle which almost looks like mammoth bark in this shot):

This one shows how perfectly matched the scales were, in thickness.

Before anyone PMs me - it's not for sale. Definitely one of my permanent keepers. Eric did a really great job on these. It made me into a Canal Street fan. Sadly, they closed up shop before they produced another model that I was interested in buying (never cared for the Pinch models).

Eric did a really fine job on those. You got a nice one too, John.

If I remember correctly 2014 was the year John Lloyd contributed the wonderful stag used on the 2014 BF knife and the Eric's Jack. It makes them pretty special in my opinion.

A nice treat to see one! chased those for ages, thanks again waynorth (Charlie)!

My Eric's Jack was one of the first traditional knives I bought, and I've held onto it through at least two knife purges. It's the only stag-handled knife I currently own; I love the huge "fissure" on the mark side.

(Sorry for the old photos. I don't have more recent ones.)

That was quite the debate that year. I think most everyone ended up a winner. I agree, Eric did a great job on that one. Here's a shot I had taken a while back contrasting the Eric's Jack with the forum knife.

It's a great single-blade short-bolster Barlow. :) Canal Street did have a Barlow pattern on that same frame a year or two before the Eric's Jack was made.
