Does anyone notice that emerson supposed fast wave knife are difficult to closed compared to Benchmade? Benchmade axis lock is strong. it has no liners; it has G10 handle. To close emerson folder, I have to move the metal plate at the bottom to the left side to close the knife. This is not practical in severe cold weather in Canada. my hands will freeze quickly. Does everyone think benchmade make better lock and handle for user???? I need your advices .

Benchmade's AXIS lock is widely acknowledged as superior. The lock on the Emerson folders is called a liner lock. The "Wave" opens the knife with significant force, which can cause the liner lock to jam open.

Most AXIS lock knives have liners. If your knife has an opening hole, you can improvise a wave by tying some wire on the outside of the hole.

For work wearing gloves, fixed blades tend to be more convenient that folders.
