Hi Gang. I just read that Phill Hartsfield was an influence on Ernest. Not surprising because Ernest has a great eye. What is cool about this is that Phill told me about the exact conversation that he had with Ernest at a knife show. The rest is history.
I had some of Phill's blades and like a fool I sold them but every time I pull out my CQC7, I cannot help to think about Phill.

Thank you, Al.
Not only was Phill master grinder and heat treater but he was a true Gentleman. I miss him. And, I will snag a Hartsfield when I have the chance.

You are welcome, Mack!
Ernest was REALLY impressed with Phill's chisel grind knives... obviously.

The chisel grind is highly criticized and often times very harshly. One thing is true, the 6 and 7 are uber cutters. If they weren't they wouldn't be selling out like flap jacks.

Jah, many folk who do not understand the chisel grind, as you know, RD.
A Zero chisel grind speaks BAD!

I always enjoy historical nuggets like that, Lycosa. Really cool. BTW, I never understood some of the harsh criticism against the chisel grind. My chisel ground CQC7 cuts very well. Maybe those folks just never had experience with them? To keep my post on topic, Phil and Ernie really knew/know what they were/are doing.

Thanks Joe and Bro and Emerson knuts!
The chisel grind works very well for what it is designed to do, as you guys know. I love the simplicity too.
Pohan Leu is also a Master with the cg. ;) I have his folder on order.

Po!!! Thank you! Thank you very much!
btw, you started my second round of knife craziness!!!
