Yesterday, we had the pleasure of a visit by Errett Callahan, he was passing thru our area and stopped in Riverton for a few hours, we met him for lunch, and then had the opportunity to see some of his work. Just last week we recieved a copy of Tactical Knives, there was an artilce on Errett and a field test of one of his knives. Errett is a master at creating stone knives, arrow heads, to traditional styles and one of a kind art and fantasy knives. He works in obsidian, volcanic glass, and uses the ancient art of flintknapping to shape a chunk of glass into something quite functional and beautiful, he also makes a few scalpels...man are they sharp.. he showed us where he had his shoulder repaired, using an obsidian scalpel, and the scar was almost invisable. Errett also teaches courses in flintknapping, passing along his 40+ years of experience and research into this ancient technology...some day I would like to attend one of his workshops, I believe it would be time and money well spent. If you get the chance check out this mans work, you won't be disappointed, at the present time he has a couple pieces at BladeGallery.com Mike
