Why is this guy sending me warnings about minor spam on the forum six months after the fact???!!!! I wrote some comment about a knife I had on someone else's sales thread because a guy had indicated he was looking for the knife. I was new to the forum at the time. Suddenly, six months later at the very least, perhaps longer, Esav sends me a little warning about minor spam. Can somebody let me know who actually runs/ owns this forum?? And is there an appeals process?? I really can't fathom why this guy is trolling age- old posts of mine looking for minor infractions. Considering the things I have heard occurring on this forum, he must have more productive ways to spend his time. I'd love to have a phone call with whoever owns/ runs this forum. Please let me know where I can contact them.

Because this warning, at this stage, when all my feedback has been positive and I always have excellent experiences selling to members, is pissing me off.

If it is little warning, then calm down......why not email him directly instead of this?

I'm moving this to Tech Support.

The mods don't see every post. We depend largely on the membership to report posts that break our rules. Your post and another just like in the same thread were reported. The post you received a warning for (a post made 4 months ago not 6 or more) was still visible to the community. Offering to buy in a manufacturer's forum isn't allowed as all business must be conducted in the Exchange. Accusing Esav of "trolling age old" posts is out of line and incorrect. You received a warning (no points) for breaking a site rule. Did you try to get in contact with Esav and ask about this? If you want to contact Spark (the site owner), feel free to do so.

I'm not sure what to tell ya, I've been here a long time and have had warnings and infractions some issued by Esav but I didn't take it as an attack from him, he's great moderator who spends a lot of time filtering through tons of posts daily, a pretty much thankless job here.

Before ya brought the thread here, did ya pm Esav and ask him what for or why the warring was issued?

Did someone bump an old thread that brought it to light?

Your still pretty new here, maybe he was basically giving you a heads up, how about a link to the thread/post in question?

I'll say this Esav is a reasonable person, before this thread gets ugly I'd recommend closing it till you'be spoken with him.

Just an old member's 2¢ worth.
 
1) It is likely that you just now recieved a warning about it because someone just recently reported it and brought it to the Mod Staff's attention.
2) Warnings are not infractions. They are only warnings for improper actions. It's only as big a deal as you choose to make it.
 
Thank you Markksr. But like I said, I can't even access the thread to verify the specifics. I suspect it may be the same issue I already received a notice about ages ago.

Pwerfel. Ya Bud, they also sell decaf sacrcasm pills as well-- I value my reputation, so when someone sends me a little warning about something months after the fact, when all my experiences, thus far, have been pretty good, I'd just like to get to the bottom of it. So if you don't yave anything constructive to add, like the other gentlemen who responded... Go fly.

Warnings and infractions have nothing to do with your feedback. 2 completely different aspects of the forum. Members can't see your infractions, only mods can. A warning isn't a big deal, it's a heads up if you will letting you know that you are doing something wrong. FYI, enforcing the rules that Spark has laid out isn't trolling bro.

You've received a total of 3 warning all for different reasons. You can see all the warnings you've received by clicking on the "infractions" tab in your profile. Nobody else but you and the moderators can see this information. Nobody would even know you received a warning in this case...unless of course you told everyone. :)
 
Thank you RevDevil. I just woke up to this and thought" what the hell???!!!!" Perhaps my response was a little kneejerk. Appreciate the advice.
 
And yes I did PM Esav. Taking the issue to other forum members is legitimate as far as I can tell. I wanted to know what the experience of other members had been. That's part of the purpose of a forum last time I looked-- open discusiion. Constructive discussion.
