I stopped at a yard sale that consisted chiefly of box after box of junk from a garage that had closed after the owner retired. Basically my kind of stuff
In amongst the broken gear pullers and partial sets of Allen wrenches was this:
It's an old Escher water hone. This thing was loose in a box of junk, no box or anything to protect it. The only defect is a small chip in the upper left hand corner. It even has about half of the paper label still glued to it.
It's a small thing in a lot of ways. But, as far as I'm concerned any day you can buy a nice stone for a buck is a good day.
