I'm hoping that the people at Boker can explain this.

I've been wanting to buy this knife for some time now.I was shocked when I saw the new listed MSRP for 2008, on the boker website is now $139.00 from last years $87.95 which is an increase of about 58% over last years price. The knife is only 440C and I am at a loss to why Boker made such a dramatic increase in the price.

Now I.m not sure whether I should purchase this knife now,it seems alot to pay for a 440C knife.

I know it is a shock, but most of our prices are going up due to the decreasing value of the dollar in relation to the Euro. Also, on some of our
models, material prices have started to rise.
Sorry for the bad news.
Terry

I have one of these and recently noted the price increase as well. Honestly, looking at my knife, it has $130 fit and finish. Maybe some vary, but mine is darn nice for the price point. I didn't pay retail for mine, but I thought it was a great deal at the old $87 too. :)

That sure was a fast response from Terry. It figures,a weak dollar and increasing material cost = a rise in prices.

RoadMaster78,I also don't pay retail, what has me really going is that last week,KnifeWorks.com had them for $57 and now this week their at $79.95.

I'm going to change my mind and buy it because first,it looks like a very wicked knife, second,Terry was such a gentleman to promptly respond to my post and third,I understand that there are factors like the dollar and material costs that cannot be controlled.
