Hi, i was wondering about edcing a ESEE 3-4. Does anyone edc their 3 or 4? And how do you edc it? Im kind of looking for a method to edc one without drawing to much unwanted attention :) (yes i know izulas make great neck knives, but my ZT seems to have the smaller workhorse knife covered) I really just want to try this out for about a month or so until my custom necker comes in.

Both my 3 and 4 have pulled EDC duties flawlessly. I'd use para-cord and strap them horizontally on my belt and they carried great. I EDC one of my Izulas right now, but wouldn't hesitate to EDC them again.

Thanks, that sounds like a pretty good setup :), i dont have a 4 but its pretty much just a larger blade than the 3. Is it a bit bulky for edc?

I carry a RAT/ESEE-3 during cooler weather clipped to my belt under a sweater but, other times, I carry in my pocket. I just don't see the point in the Izula when the 3 is so much more knife and is easy to hide.

I think the ESEE-3 is probably the perfect EDC fixed blade. Sure there are others more or less like it...most that are as good will cost way more. I am also a big fan of the Izula-2. The handle is big enough to get all 4 fingers around but the blade is fairly short...very very sturdy...but short. I am a huge fans of all the ESEE products, especially the smaller ones like the Izulas, 3, and 4. The bigger ones are fantastic too.

I had one and I occasionally carried it in a kydex sheath with a little clip about halfway up the handle. Carried in the front pocket of my jeans quite well, just a bit of handle poking out the top.

Not at all really. It carried like a much smaller knife, and the sheath is one of the best you could get with a production knife at any price point.

I've sold all my esee/rat knives but if you're just looking for opinions I'd say go with the 3 !! besides pending your location the 4 may not be legal...

As long as it isnt classified as a bowie knife or dirk (two sided all the way) im good.

The 3 was my go to knife for years and I loved it. It is a great slicer but durable enough for hard use. Just enough knife to work in a lot of situations, and fits perfectly in my hand. The only thing I did was strip/patina the blade for food prep. Go with the 3 mil. Just my .02.
