ESEE-3/4 Handle Length

Overall, the ESEE-3/4 appeal to me very much. My only concern is that the handle may be too short. This seems to be a comment I hear about. I wear large size gloves. Can anybody provide pictures and/or information that will help me decide if I should purchase one or move on to another knife? If it helps, my calling for this blade is a general hiking and camping knife. Thank you much.

Don't have large hands but do have a minty fresh ESEE-3 sitting here, so here's a pic of it in my palm along with the same thing with a ruler to give an idea of my hand size

Here's a 4 next to a Ka-Bar, Rat 1, American Lawman, and a Mini Commander.

I bought an ESEE4 and found the same issue. I bought a 'custom' handle from The Knife Connection, which were larger handles actually covering the rear of the knife. Now I can actually get my meathooks around it properly. And they have quite a selection of colors (I went with the camo tan with tan blade).

ESEE-3,4 do not have overly large handles...this is one of few ESEE weak spots. I have rather large hands (often enough XL gloves are too small). ESEE-5 or 6...King Kong hands will fit.

I think its not so much the size .. its the blade to handle ratio... the ESEE 3 feels great in the hand ....the 4 less so...tho it can grow on you esp if you like the choil.
The 3 would just be about perfect for your use. If you need the extra blade of the 4 you could go for the after market grips but i would consider another knife as well ....maybe a Becker tweener.

I think you have to get one to find out. It's more preference then anything IMO. I have med/large hands and I didn't like it. I've heard guys who wear large and say it's fine.

I have medium to small hands, and the 3 and 4 fit me perfectly (I think they're the same). I would guess they would be small for anyone with larger hands.
