ESEE-3/4 - swapping handles is fun!

Time to kill while I wait for the stripper to eat away at my Izula so thought I'd have some fun and take a few pics for you guys - have swapped out my RC3mil tan canvas micarta handles with my ESEE4 orange G10 - fit is great and its nice to play handle lego :D

Still prefer the feel of tan canvas to the G10 even though the orange G10 looks awesome - wish they sold the handles separately for all the ESEEs available (would love tan canvas micarta on the 6 and I dont have a 5 to swap out), but I understand that the Jeff and Mike are looking out for the vendors and avoiding all the different product codes.

You're stripping the Izula, eh? Awesome! I loved that knife so much when I got it, I couldn't imagine loving it more... but I did when I stripped it. Good luck! What are you going to use for the patina?

Gorgeous job by the way!!

She is all stripped and I gave her a good scrub w a scotchbright pad - stripping took for friggin ever bc I bought the "safe to use indoors all natural" stripper since I'm in an apartment. The results are awesome and pics to come!

She is soaking right now - I'm using spicy brown mustard and bbq sauce :D

I'd love to see all the knives offered with black blades and canvas micarta. Yeah, yeah wish in one hand and.....
 
Thanks for the heads up! I never really gave it a thought...sooooo......

I changed out the orange scales from my OD 4 and threw them on my black 3 clip point. The black/orange combo looks the goods...and now I have a trail savvy color with my clip point bloade which is my preferred grind.
 
Ive sold my 6s just bc I have numerous blades in that size, but I'd buy one again if they came w canvas micarta - I think it feels so much better than the regular micarta scales on the 6...
 
Think I'm going to do a swap out tonight between the linen on my 4 and the canvas on my 3MIL and see how I like it. Always felt my 4 would benefit from canvas. The 3 is honestly the only model in the line I like the look of the linen on.

I much prefer the canvas scales to the linen and honestly wish ESEE would do away with the linen on the 3, 4 and 6 models and just go with canvas across the board other than the G10 orange on some models for those who like that. Canvas looks better, feels better in my opinion.
