Out of the RC ESEE lineup, to me the 3 is the perfect fillet knife, I know a lot of us go fishing when camping or hiking, and I've used a thicker bladed knife to fillet fish with....to me the 3 has a bona fide place in my outdoor kit, it's also part of my edc.........Anybody else think the 3 is great for this....

I haven't had a chance to take mine out fishing yet (or even catch a decent sized fish this year) but figured it would be great for gutting and was curious to know how it would do at filleting.

Personally, I'd rather have my Rapala when it comes to filleting fish. I know my RC-3 would do in a pinch. Hey, if it works for you . . . .

Congrats on liking your 3 for the task.

I'm gonna try my HEST next...but I can tell ya...
lotsa Bluegill have good reason to FEAR MY IZULA! :)

Yeah, I have lots of fillet knives, so those are what I use to fillet.

I cant see how a non-flexible blade could be better, but to each their own.

Ya, I pretty much use a fillet knife for filleting. Roughin it? Hell ya I'd use it.

trout and sunfish don't need to be filleted or scaled.

gut 'em, cut off the head and cook. peel skin when cooked.

I like my RC-3 and the next time I catch some crappie I give it a try
and let you know how it works out.I bet it does just fine.
Thanks for this post on the 3.

I have used my 3 to clean and gut/fillet some fish a couple of times, the Mora I had with me done a better job with the fillet part. Mora was not the greatest but the 3 would not flex.
