and in all honesty, i am actually having mixed feelings about it...its asweet little blade, but even though i knew the diumentions, most of my folding knives have thicker blades and longer handles. im very open to it, after all i ordered it! but I was still hoping that there would be some of you pro 3'ers out therethat would convince me its worth it.:) thanks!

The ESEE knives I have purchased have pretty much made all folders obsolete (in my own opinion), especially my ESEE-3. The fact that fixed blades are much lower maintenance (no tiny little parts to clean/fix and no need to worry about dirt and dust getting anywhere it shouldn't), and much stronger is enough for me to value my fixed blades that much more. The ESEE-3 is one of the best knives I have bought by a mile.

thanks bro, i have been using and fondaling the little guy lol, and it is one awsome blade! i love it! i wish it was legal to carry here in washington so bad!! i would boot clip it and edc it everywhere all day. and your so right, whenever i use any other folders accept for my griptilians (love them) i always feel like their too high maintnence, and i love not worrying about that factor with my new 3.

get the TKC aftermarket scales for it - makes a huge difference in how it feels in hand.
If those had been available 6 months ago, I would still have a 3.

The 3 is a fantastic knife. Use it for a while and you find out that it's not too small--it's just right.

Washington, as in Washington State? You should be fine EDCing it here. Before I bought my Izzy, 3 and HEST, I EDC'd my ESEE-4 and had no problems with legality. Of course I didn't wave it around making light saber sounds either. :D

Give the 3 a chance and I think you'll fall in love. I was ambivalent about my HEST when I first got it. Now I love it and EDC it. BTW, you're right. My folders don't get much pocket time now that I have the HEST.

Thanks a lot. I looked over the -3 & -4 - decided on the -4 - have it 'on the way'. Can't wait - really want it here - and now! Sadly, it may be another example of my 'too much is better' thought process - my only other RAT/ESEE knife is an early RC-5 with the fancier original sheath. Love the knife - but what a moose. Now I am thinking that the -3 would have been ideal. Thanks! Another knife to buy...

Stainz

PS A -6 looks pretty nice, too...

I don't know if this will help but on youtube they show them beating the crap out of an rc-3 or 4 and It did very nicely, whether you agree or disagree with the methodology the results are interesting at the very least
