I thought I saw the Esee 3 folder listed as 'coming soon' on blade HQ, but when I checked again yesterday it wasn't there??? Now I wonder if I saw it at all:confused: Anyone else see it?

The ESEE folder isn't custom or handmade so let's move this thread to the General knife discussion forum.

There have been a couple threads about ESEE and folders. They're still around if you want to search for them.

From what I remember, the Rowan factory is running at capacity to produce the existing patterns, with no room for making more. Thus far, ESEE has not been able to find another factory that can produce the quality and capacity they are looking for.

For all I know, they may have stopped looking. Their fixed blades sell like crazy, and the Candiru is small enough to be carried instead of a folder.

If somebody else has more/different information, please feel free to set me straight.

I did see that Blade HQ has ESEE 3 & 4's with uncoated blade's coming soon. They Look pretty nice. I might get a 3 when they come out.

They are tooling up for the Izula folder right now. Rowen was in the process of getting the machines from Germany I believe. The Izula folder is coming, in time.

ESEE folders are kind of like the Lochness monster, or Bigfoot.

There are photos of them, and some people swear to have seen them, but they don't really exist..no matter how much we want to believe it. :p

that looks like a DPX HEST prototype? interesting

I would personally love an izula folder.

It's the ESEE-3 Folder Prototype that was (IIRC) supposed to be manufactured by LionSteel, but the deal fell through for reasons I can't recall.

...but of course it's just an elaborate hoax, just like the izula folder. :D

DPX and ESEE have a common association, back there somewhere. I believe that DPX started as a partnership with ESEE.

I don't know all the details, but the man behind DPX did not distinguish himself with his behavior, which led to a separation from the Adventure Team.

As a result, although the HEST folder may have some ESEE genes, the connection isn't really discussed.

Holy crap Indy, I haven't seen those pictures in about 3 years. Where did you unearth those :)

There are pictures of an Izula folder (that you can't have) right on the Esse website. Many more if you just do a google image search.
