Esee 3 Sheath, issue or solution?

So I recently bought an Esee 3. I've enjoyed my friends Esee 4 for quite some time and decided to order my own. Well I love the knife but the sheath feels very tight. It takes quite some force to get the knife out. I was wondering if there was a solution to this? Or maybe someone could point me in the direction of a new sheath? I would like to wear it in the scout position but the current sheath doesn't allow this as is right now. Could anyone lend me a hand?

Sorry if this isn't the right section. Recently new here obviously. Thanks in advance for all the help.

The tightness is better because it will get loose after getting it in and out a few times. If you purchase a large tek lok attachment you'll be able to wear it in a scout position. Also a paracord will help

You might need to change the way you pull it out. Try pushing the sheath away from the knife with your thumb when you draw it.

Maybe the more i pull it out and put it back in it may loosen up slightly. I'll look into a tek lok, thank you.

I pull it out this way. I've used several fixed blade knifes before and this is hands down the stiffest and hardest one I've ever had to get out.

I made the mistake of thinking those sheaths were Kydex. You are right, the plastic sheath on my ESEE 6 did loosen up after a while.

I'm not sure of yours, but the ESEE sheaths I've handled lately have had those molded plastic sheaths. They are stiff, real stiff. THe plastic they use is somewhat softer than kydex and it does break in, but so far as I've heard it does not loosen up a whole lot. Injection molded sheaths and holsters is still a somewhat new thing, but so far they hold up very well.

Use seems to be the overall solution, a good break in should loosen it up enough so it doesnt hike up your pants every time you draw the knife. :)

The material does feel like plastic. I do notice that when removing the knife i do see small shards the of material on the blade. So maybe working the blade in and out may get it to a point where its not as tough to get in and out. I appreciate all the help.

Depending on how local you are, I may be able to help you out with some options. Drop me a line if it doesn't loosen up enough are some use. (Click on my name to email)

I'm not familiar with the knife in question; but if the blade isn't coated with anything, perhaps adding a few layers of tape to the blade (to thicken it) and leaving it for a while in the sheath could stretch it out a bit.
