I'm really liking this blade for a very near future purchase. The questions I have are these: I want a good utility knife that can be concealed easily and is good in either forward or reverse grip (edge in aka "Pakal"). With the sharpened swedge option is this knife good for my needs? Anyone else use it in a similar fashion? Not worried about the legalities of double edge as I understand them well enough.
Thanks in advance.

Ummmm.... Have you looked at the knife? It has no swedge. And it's surely not sharpened, do to the lack thereof.

I'm pretty sure the ESEE 3 will work well for you. It's a pretty slim package and since the handle is shortish the overall length isn't too long considering the blade length.

The handle shape works fine in different grips, but if you have big hands like I do it might feel a bit small and skinny (a compromise for ease of concealment).

The sheath is flat, with a lot of grommets for attaching different fasteners (it comes with a metal clip, but you can use a Tek-Lok or Spydie G-clip). If you wanted to save a bit of space, you could have a narrower, more minimalistic kydex sheath custom made but I don't think its worth the expense.

Nothing like ignorance displayed with a flair......

They do in fact come with swedges if you desire, and definitely SHARP.

Thanks everyone. It's probably my next purchase. It's really hard to find a good all around fixed blade (or folder for that matter) that fits my needs of both forward and reverse grip. Although I've discovered that as folders go, the Benchmade 710 is REALLY great for both forward and reverse grip (probably why I have 3 of them). As for reverse grip, the p'kal is probably the absolute best, but it lacks a lot in forward grip. I've owned a Shivworks disciple when they were first introduced, but let it go years ago. I just couldn't get the thing to hold a good edge. That's why a sharpened swedge really is attractive to me. Best of both worlds.

I have an ESEE 4 Mil, with the sharpened top edge. It is easily carried open or concealed. I am very pleased, and comfortable with it.
I do feel the handle is too short, and too thin. TKC makes replacement scales that mostly fixes those Issues.
If you order the ESEE 3 Mil from TKC, you can get it with the replacement scales, at a lesser price than buying the knife as it comes, and then replacing the scales.
