ESEE-4 Black blade w/ canvas micarta?

Anyone switched scales to make this combo? I really like that color scheme like seen on the ESEE-3MIL and wish it was available on the ESEE-4.

i would pick up a "4MIL" in a heartbeat if they were available. i think a couple people have switched out the scales without problems.

Yes, I have switched the linen scales from one of my 4's with some canvas scales from one of my 3's.

I like the canvas better than the linen.

I’d love to see that. It would sell that’s for sure. Black blade with canvas micarta should be a staple of the ESEE line.

When putting my 3MIL scales on my 4 to make a 4MIL, I snapped all 12 screw heads off. Jeff!

I've been wanting to get an ESEE knife for a while now and probably would have already done so if that combo was available.

I handled an Izula II last night which confirmed that the black/canvas is awesome looking.

I've handled a 3 with the linen, and while it is very nice, I too prefer the canvas.

I just got a 3MIL and have a black bladed 4 too so I considered it but I have a set of Dales custom scales on my 4 now so I'm not gunna bother. I would have bought that combination if it was available at the time though.

Guess I should have posted this earlier. I did this a few weeks ago and love the set up. It started out as a 4P OD. I did not like the green, so it was removed. I like the orange, but prefer this canvass. Yes, that means I have a MIL with no handle, but will probably put the orange scales from my RAT Pack knife on it and keep the gray scales I robbed from a 3P. I'll post that separately so as not to hijack this post.
