ESEE 4 carving feathersticks - vids

I just bourgt the ESEE4 and had to start testing it.
The ESEE4 is pretty good at this - better than I had expected!
The choil was not as problematic as I had feared.

The 4 looks great carving up the wood, Slient1 - congrats.

I don't choke up as much as you do on the handle...
but I really don't mess with feathersticks too much I admit.

Petrojelly cotton balls are my standard as I always have a bunch with me.
But again...your "shavings" look awesome and the 4 looks right at home.

I'm curious as to why you might not like the choil? I notice a lot of people mention that they prefer choil-less so that's why I ask.

Personally, I think I'd hate the knife without it, I mind my finger resting there more often than not when I'm doing finer work for traps or just whittling. Also makes sharpening a lot easier for me.
