Ok, I got another ESEE 4 (Giving it a second chance) with the canvas micarta handle this time. It is the molle back edition which also includes the molle locks. I am struggling with mounting it. I generally like a belt mount, something to get to fast that also does no right high. I am not diggin the sheath very well for this. I belt mount my S1 which I think has a far more inferior sheath but seems to work far better after using it more and I can grab the knife out fast...not to mention put it back in without having to look to hard at it! If I just use the kydex with the molle locks it rights high and the molle locks dont tend to stay locked well. Am I missing something?

If anyone has some pictures to post on how to configure this sheath in many other uses please let me know. The manual is a little vague. I am on the fence with this sheath and this blade for this reason...plus the handle is barely enough but seems to just make it.

I hope I'm not misunderstanding you, but it sounds like you might be trying to use the molle locks with the molle back. Leave the locks out of you want to use the molle back. Just bolt it to the sheath and I use the long vertical strap to put my belt through when I'm not carrying a pack.

As for the handles, Dale at theknifecenter.com makes replacement scales that add about half an inch or so to the length of the handle. Supposed to be a pretty good replacement.

No either the molle back or the molle lock not together. With the kydex and the molle locks the knife rides high in can dig into your side. I also had the molle locks pop lose... As for just the molle back attached to the kydex I looped the strap through it and belted it in. I will try and put some pictures.
