I have 100$ burning a whole in my pocket. I would like to know which knife I should buy? A BK2 or an Esee-5 ?

Wait...a 4, or a 5? Your thread title and post contradict each other. As far as determining which one is best for you, it depends on what you're looking at using the knife for. :)

I bought an RC-5 several years ago - then for somewhat over your C-note limit. Wednesday, I bought an RC-4P for less than your C-note via evil-bay - it arrived today. Wow! It is the best <$100 'bushcraft' knife around - a great bargain - highly suggested.

PS The RC-5 is super, too... super useful, but super big & heavy, too!

I am going to assume that it is the Esee 4 vs BK2 since your budget is $100. Both knife have different capabilities so it will depend on which is more useful for you right away. BK2 is similar to Esee 5; they cut, chop and can be used to pry stuff. They are heavier and larger compared to the Esee 4. The Esee 4 is a smaller and lighter fixed blade. Easier to carry and can be stashed away easily in smaller Packs or Pouches. It will be do lot of work like cutting, carving but chopping and prying.

If you just hike a lot, the Esee 4 might be your ideal first option. If you plan to camp out a lot or venture into very remote places, the BK2 is great pal to have along. All the best!

I will be using the knife for some light camping and hiking. But it also will sit in my BOB when its not out being used. So i kinda want a do all knife that can take some abuse.

ESEE-4 and BK-2 are different knives, so get the one you best think fits your intended purpose. That being said if its going in a BOB you might also want to consider a stainless blade. Thats just my opinion.

Two outstanding but wildly different knives. That said, I'd get the BK2 - it's my goto knife for smaller jobs and does very well with larger jobs too. Can't go wrong!
