ESEE 4 or Izula 2 recomendations please

So after reading a bunch of your recommendations which I greatly appreciate by the way, I have another question. In deciding between the 4 and the Izula 2 I need those of you who are experienced with both to tell me what the 4 CAN"T do that the Izula 2 can. I guess I'm leaning toward the 4 as a better all around match to go with my Junglass if I were to only add ONE other blade. I'm not into owning tons of knives, just a few that work well together. As much as I like the 6 I'm thinking if I only added one blade it might not be the best choice since I don't need another bigger blade. THANKS MUCH! You guys are awesome!

The 4 doesn't ride in a pocket as well as the Izula2 and can't be worn as a neck knife. I had a 4 and didn't care for it that much. I've had 4 or 5 Izula's and kept 2 that I'll probably never get rid of.
If I could only own two ESEE's they would be the Junglas and an Izula1 or 2.

Besides JGON's thread, my recommendation would depend on what your intended use is.

The Izula can be carried around daily very easily in a wide variety of configurations. The 4 might violate your local knife laws to carry around concealed.

My personal opinion? Get an Izula II and the ESEE-4 or just the ESEE-3. I'd get all three, though, since I can conceal izulas and the 3 but not the 4. The 4 would be carried on the belt, visible, or attached to my bag as a carry location.

One thing I really like is that I can fit the Izula in this little pocket that is in my upper left inside coat pocket around my chest. It fits in perfectly and just the handle sticks out. I can EDC my Izula II way easier than the 4.

Both are pretty different in application I think. Just depends on your own use.

If you intend on using the 4 or the Izzy II for EDC, the Izula-II wins no question. Mine rides in my front pocket all the time. Hell of a lot harder to hide a 4 and state and local laws may vary due to the 4's size.

Both are going to be great cutters. If you plan on doing any batoning though, go with the 4. Jeff and Mike have stated the Izula or Izula II were never intended for that. They "can" do it, but maybe for only so long before you screw em' up.

Technically no knife was really ever "intended" to be batoned, but the 4 would be far more capable at that role than the Izula-II.

Again, really really depends upon what you plan on doing with it. Pretty much any ESEE could make a good "companion" to the Junglas. Just assess your needs first I guess.

I usually don't EDC anything less then a 4" blade, so if it was me I would take the 4.

Also I think the 4 is a more versatile blade.....

I wish I could EDC my RC-4.....well I can but I have to have it non-concealed. I could carry it on my belt with the MOLLEBACK but the last time I tried I couldn't figure out how to make a proper belt loop with it (what the velcro was for and which strap to thread the button strap through to create a belt loop.) This one would be strapped to the outside of my bag.

The RC-4 is definitely way more versatile, but due to my local laws and preference to conceal I have to go with the RC-3MIL or ESEE-3MIL-S for a big knife. I can only conceal a 3.5" blade in Nebraska. I believe a 5" blade is the biggest non-concealed (in sheath on side of belt). The Izula II is super easy to conceal, but a smaller blade for the trade-off.

That's really too bad, out here in the deep north you can carry a broadsword around, as long as it's visable. I'm planning on carring my lite with my junglas piggy-backed and the four as a neck knife.

Thanks much for the responses, everything helps. The right knife for the job article was awesome. Also since I'm relatively new to the forum I'm finding out you really have to get specific in your questions which I'll get better at. Things such as what state i live in and do I plan on EDC with the knives asked about. By the way my state has no restrictive knife carry laws and I always carry a gun (licensed in 2 states) so which knife I mated to my Junglas would only have to do with being out in the woods and survival issues. I have a folding EDC knife so whether I got a Izula 2 or a 4 wouldn't matter for that, Things I should have mentioned in my initial question, but, I'm learning! Thanks again.
