I am looking for a backup blade ( my excuse to get another knife) and am debating between the esee 4 or the swamp rat rodent 4. I have a BK 2 so this would be for finer work. Which would you recommend. Also is there any difference in the warranty of the two companies.

Thanks, jaydon

I am pretty close to getting an ESEE 4, but with the TKC's (The Knife Connection) custom scales due to the added length. ESEE's warranty, sheath, Rowen's heat treatment of the 1095, etc... all in all a great move, I think...

Both of those are decent sized knives that can hold their own. I like the rodent 4 much better due to the handle and also SR101 holds an edge much better than 1095 if you cut abrasive materials. Look at the Scrap Yard 411. Its lighter than both and will be easier to carry while also being cheaper.
