ESEE 4 | Question re: color of handle inserts

Hello all. I recently purchased my first ESEE-4 (plain edge, black blade, grey scales) and have a question regarding the color of the thin inserts between the tang and scales. On the knife that I received the inserts are red, but on most of the pictures I see on the internet the inserts are green (the picture of the ESEE-4 on ESEE's website shows green inserts). I am just curious whether ESEE/ROWEN changed the color of the inserts to red (and that is now how all 4's are made) or whether they still make the knife with both colors and it's essentially random whether one gets a knife with red or green inserts. Does anyone know?

I don't know the reason, but a co-worker and I ordered ESEE 6s about a week apart from the same store and came with different liners.
