So, which one do you guys recommend? They can both be had for the same price, so it comes down to which is the better knife. I like them both so much, but can't afford both:(

Honestly? They are both excellent quality knives. You'll be happy with either of them. Get the one you like most FIRST, then save up until you can afford the second one. This way, you don't need to choose one over the other. Patience makes achieving your collecting goals so much sweeter. You never know, a couple months down the road when you can afford the second one...you might not want it anymore because you are drooling over a Bark River Bravo Necker which I would prefer over either of those.

Also
Google Search Link Lots of youtube comparisons available for your decision making process. Only YOU can make up your mind.

Yeah, I know in the end I'll be the one to decide. But I still find great enjoyment in talking to other knife folk. :)

Also, I've had my eye on Bark River's for a while. They make absolutely gorgeous knives. But after handling a friend's ESEE 3 and Junglas, I have to have an ESEE. Like Cold Stone Creamery, I gotta have it! LOL

I have both. Kind of hard to choose. If you've got big hands, I think maybe the Laser Strike. The handle on the 4 is not what I would call overly generous. I have 2 of the 4s. They are very classic knives though and would be equally at home, IMHO, on a hunt, in camp, in the bush, and strapped to Molle gear on a deployment. I think the Laser Strike would not function quite as well as a hunting knife. The handle on the Laser Strike, while large, is odd. It is by no means uncomfortable...just an odd shape. I cannot say it is a good looking knife but it feels very good in the hand. The 4 has a classic look...if you care.

Both are proven winners with lots of people declaring the Laser Strike their favorite ESEE. I like mine a lot that's for sure.

Tough choice. You'll end up with both. If you want a classic "can only own just one" knife, that'd be the 4 for it's ability to serve the hunter.

Thanks, Hoosier. I think I'm going to go ahead and get the LS first. I'm not a hunter, I just want a good camping/hiking/utility type fixed-blade. As for it not looking great, as long as it's functional I'm game. <Spyderco fan LOL.
