I have been looking into ESEE knives lately, mainly their warranty. I love the “no questions asked no nonsense” unconditional warranty. Not that I abuse my knives by any means, it is just nice to know a company is there for you should a tragedy occur.

My question..

Does ESEE warranty their 440C knives identically to their 1095 knives? Their warranty statement on their site says “we warranty ALL knives” with the exception of designs contracted out to other builders/companies. On the other hand, I have read numerous posts, multiple forums, and several people who say ESEE does not warranty their 440C the same as their 1095, but never any specifics. So, which is true? What say you, the knife gurus?

I have an email inquiry in with ESEE themselves, I just wanted to know what your experiences had/have been. Anything you’ve got will be helpful.

The Esee Knives Forum (corporate) will get you a response right away.

I don't know as to whether or not the 440C is warrantied the same. They are known for producing a good 1095 knife and that is all that I buy from them.

I guess that is the forum I missed. I did not know ESEE had a forum. Thank you for your help.

Still interested in people’s experiences.

I don't think so. At least they didnt used to. Their website or forum will tell you for sure.

According to their site, their unconditional warranty applies to ALL knives made by them (though not to knives designed by them but made by others, as you noted). Barring a response to the contrary from them (let us know what they say when they reply), I would go on the assumption that this statement means just what it says.

That is kind of the way I was leaning. I was really hoping someone had one, or knew someone that did, that they had to warranty at some point and could share the experience. I don’t understand why a rumor like that floats around if untrue. Maybe a thing of the past, since been changed? I read the wording on the site several times. It does indeed say all knives, with the above noted exception.

ETA: Will definitely report back with the response email from CS, which I’m assuming will happen Monday.

Just got a response from Mike Perrin at ESEE knives. He stated the warranty on the Stainless is the same as the 1095. That clears that up definitively. On a weekend evening, too! I am impressed with that.

I love my esee knives

When they first started with the 440c, they did not warranty it the same, you can find that referenced in older articles. It appears that has changed...
