ESEE 5 Coming my way this Monday...

Just purchased the knife and waiting for it to ship from Howe’s Knife Shop. This would be my fifth Rat/ESEE knife. I contemplated the ESEE 5 or the BK2 but instead of piecing the Micarta handles and custom kydex sheath for the BK2, I decided to spend the extra money for the ESEE 5. I hope I made the right decision here!

I got my first ESEE weds which is a 5, and i ordered a 4 last night...I love em

and the only reason i did not order the 3 is cause i got the HEST/F inbound

I've got the ESEE-5 and the BK2. I like the BK2, it's okay. But from my perspective, you've made the right choice. It's pretty darn likely you're going to love the 5. Congrats.

The 5 is a great knife! Mine is from the original first run. One of these days I'm gonna have to get the kydex sheath for it.
 
I have a 4 and have a feeling that the 5 is something I need to give it company. Post a review of your opinion of the knife once you use it.
 
Got mine from EMGear too. Really pleased with it! It's a "not too big, not too small, not too heavy....." knife. Gonna find a place in my disaster bag, might have to bump my SOD. :confused:

Whoever does the kydex sheaths is doing a GREAT job btw.

i can't say how it compares to the BK2 because i don't have a BK2, but i'm nuts about the 5. it's on my hip, right now. i'm rarely w/o it. i've said it, before, but - if i ever had to keep ONLY ONE of my knives, it'd be the 5. it's truly the 'jack of all trades'

oops, i lied. it's not on my hip, it's on the desk, i'm cuttin some cheese and peperoni up right now :D
 
The 5 is a great all around knife. If the knife laws were not so strict here in California, I'd carry mine everyday.
 
grats on the 5, I love mine, wood just splits istelf, when you threaten it with the 5.
